We recommend the number of hours you honestly need, agree your dates — consecutive days or spread out — and take a deposit to hold them.

Your instructor picks you up, works through the syllabus at pace, runs a full mock test and takes you to your practical in the car you learned in.

How many hours will I need?
A complete beginner in an automatic usually needs 30 to 40 hours. If you have had lessons before, 15 to 25 hours is common, and if you are close to test standard a 5 or 10 hour course with a mock test is often enough. We will give you an honest answer on the phone rather than sell you hours you do not need.
Do I need my theory test first?
Yes — you need to have passed your theory test before you can sit the practical. If you have not passed it yet we can still book your course dates, and our theory test guide shows you how to prepare quickly.
Can the hours be spread over more than one week?
Course hours can be spread over consecutive days or scattered across a couple of weeks — whatever suits your work or college timetable.
What licence do I get?
Passing in an automatic gives you a full automatic licence, which covers every automatic and electric car. If you later want to drive a manual you would take a manual test as well.
Is the test included?
Use of the car for your practical test is included in the course price. The DVSA test fee itself is paid to the DVSA when the test is booked.
